Surveillance Video System
A surveillance video system is a network of cameras, monitors, and recorders used to monitor and record activity in a specific area.
It's often referred to as CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television).
How it works:
Cameras: These capture images and videos. They can be indoor or outdoor, fixed or moving, and have various features like night vision, zoom, and motion detection.
Recorders: These store the video footage. They can be Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) for analog cameras or Network Video Recorders (NVRs) for IP cameras.
Monitors: These display live video feeds.
Video Management System (VMS): In larger systems, a VMS is used for advanced management and control of multiple cameras and recorders.
Purpose:
Security: Deter crime, investigate incidents, and identify suspects.
Safety: Monitor premises for hazards or emergencies.
Monitoring: Observe activities for business operations or compliance.
